Structured Hockey 5 sessions are now delivered in sixty schools across four regions.
The federation's school programme provides equipment, a coaching curriculum and teacher training so that hockey can be taught inside existing PE lessons.
Participating schools are entered into regional festivals, which act as the first step of the federation's junior pathway.
Most players meet hockey for the first time in a school hall, not a stadium.
